  Lake George Events!

Start out on Friday – The Last of the Mohicans Outdoor Drama – at the Wild West Ranch on Rt. 9 a couple of miles south of the Village.  This was a big success last Summer and this year there will be performances July 27 to August 18.  This weekend there are performances Friday and Saturday.  Visit their website for additional information about tickets and times.

4 on 4 Beach Volleyball – You need to preregister to play – but come and cheer on the Georgian team!  Sunday August 5th Million Dollar State Beach, Beach Rd., Lake George ~ 8 AM ~ Lots of fun in the sun ~ Men, Women & Co-ed divisions for all levels of play ~ Prizes, T-shirts

Six Flags Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom – Next week August 6-12 is Heroes Week.  Free admission to the park will be offered to military personnel, teachers, police & corrections officers, fire departments, nurses & EMS, just show occupational ID at main gate.

This weekend features our own ELVIS! Tribute Show with Drew Polsun and the Fascinations backed up by the Patch it up Band – right here in the Terrace Room – Saturday 6-11PM.  More information here.

Start the weekend off right – relax on the Patio here at the Georgian with music by Spellbound 5:30 – 9:30 then the Village Fireworks at 9:30PM.  Friday evening features Lyl Harper – with awesome Caribbean Music 5-9PM then Dr. Kildean in Giovanna’s at 8PM.   Enjoy Chuck Kelsey on the Patio Saturday 5-9PM.  Visit the Georgian Entertainment Page for more info on our artists.

There is lots more music just a short walk from the Georgian in the Bandstand at  Shepard Park.  Coming up this week and weekend is Wed. 7:30PM Paul Cebar singer/songwriter/guitarist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His band, Tomorrow Sound, uses drums, percussion, bass, guitars, horns & keyboards-a rock format drawing from sounds around the world.  Hear him on You Tube.  More music Thursday 7PM  at Shepard Park – with a Community Band Concert – Friday enjoy 7 PM ~ “Rev Tor Band” – Berkshire Rock & Roll.  More information at Lake George Arts Project.

  Saratoga Racetrack Aug 1-5

Saratoga RacetrackStart on Thursday – August 2nd at the Track – Mid Summer St. Patrick’s Day Celebration.  Enjoy traditional Irish food and drink while taking in Irish music and dance from the Orange County AOH Pipe and Drums and the Boland School of Dance. Family Fun Fridays are held every Friday – lots of fun!  On Sunday August 5th enjoy a great Wine Event and take in the races – Galloping Grapes - A New York wine event at the Track! Come and sample some of New York’s best wines. Galloping Grapes is held in the backyard and tickets costs $10 in advance and $15 day of. Proceeds will help benefit the Times Union Hope Fund.

Attractions

Summer is in full swing and The Lake George Area is brimming with events, entertainment and attractions – with something for everyone!  This weekend features the last weekend for the two week run of the Big Apple Circus.  Friday and Saturday there are shows at 3PM and 7PM then Sunday 11AM and 3PM.  For tickets visit the Big Apple Circus Website.   If you have kids and you’re coming to Lake George – you gotta go to the Six Flags Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom!  Discount tickets are available at the Georgian (just $36/person, available at the front desk).  This year the Great Escape opened their latest ride Alpine Freefall!  Awesome video, check it out…

Entertainment & Music

The Georgian offers the finest in local live music on the Patio and in Giovanna’s Restaurant.  This weekend entertainment begins on Thursday night with Spellbound on The Patio 5:30-9:30 with The Lake George Village Fireworks beginning at 9:30PMOn Friday we are again featuring Spellbound 5:00-9:00 PM with the J. Walker Duo in Giovanna’s at 8PM.  Also on Friday night – right down the street in Shepard Park (5 min walk) – is  “Twiddle” – Fresh Progressive Rock beginning at 7PM.  Check out the Twiddle Website great music!  On Saturday – back to the Georgian Patio for John Eisenhart 5:00-9:00 PM the inside Giovanna’s for Bobby Dick.  For more information about Georgian Entertainers with links to audio and video clips – visit our Entertainment web page.

Saratoga Race TrackSaratoga Racetrack

Saratoga is in full swing – with racing at the historic flat track six days a week.  Check out their schedule here.  This weekend is hat day on the 29th – and Friday the 27th – enjoy Kids can enjoy Family Fun Fridays in the backyard – a bounce inflatable plus arts and crafts.  Additional activities will be scheduled each Friday including a reptile/lizard show, Fox 23’s Karaoke Booth where you can do your Idol best, a mad science show and more.  Also Friday is College Day and Party at the Spa – read about these events here.

It’s Circus Time in Lake George!

The Big Apple Circus is coming to town – this is the first weekend!  With performances under the big top Saturday 3PM and 7PM.  Get tickets right at the Chamber Office or online at Big Apple Circus.  The Circus is set-up in the old Gaslight Village property now call West Brook Park.  Need more information call the Lake George Chamber of Commerce 518-668-5575.
