Winter Fun in Lake George!

December 27th, 2011

SkierWinter has been here for a few days (since the Winter Solstice on Dec. 22) but there is not a lot of winter like conditions to talk about.  This has been a very warm Autumn with little snow and cold – the key ingredients for winter fun!  However, the local ski areas are indeed open with machine made snow and impressive trail counts considering the weather.  Gore Mt. has about 40% of their terrain open – 8 of 13 lifts and 23 of 95 trails.  Pretty good considering there has been only a few inches natural snow.  Nearby West Mt. opened yesterday, December 26th.  Until there is additional snow, snowmobiling is on hold.  Cross country skiers can venture out to a few trails open in the Lake Placid area, but local trails are still waiting for additional snowfall.  So, the best sure bet for winter fun is probably the local alpine areas – Gore and West Mt.  We have great packages for alpine skiing vacations and getaways for Gore – check them out.

New Years Eve is fast approaching!  We are almost full for room packages!  There are still a few rooms left – give us a call soon if you are interested 518-668-5401 or 800-LAKE-GEORGE.  Check out the New Year’s Eve page. Radio Commercial GEORGIAN-NEW YEARS EVE 12-21-11.

And if winter already seems too long – get ready for our Girlfriend’s Getaway Weekend – an absolutely great time!  Save the date January 20-22.  Music by Groove Therapy.  Vendors for ♦ Clothing, Jewelry, Purse and Shoe Boutiques ♦ Hair, Beauty and Nail Salons ♦ Make-up artists ♦ Tarot and Astrology Readers ♦ Henna ♦ Body Art ♦ Massage Therapists  ♦ Facials ♦ Food  ♦ Cooking  ♦ Yoga ♦ Gardening ♦ Crafts ♦ Dating Services ♦ Sex Toys ♦ Sports and Fitness ♦ Bootcamp ♦ Women’s Services ♦ Diet Programs ♦ Estheticians

Looking further ahead – we are hosting a Spring Bridal Show and Expo on March 11, 2012.  We are working on a great vendor list with a bridal fashion show, great giveaways and a grand prize drawing for a Georgian Vacation Package.

Winter is Here! Enjoy Fun on The Snow!

January 18th, 2011

Group Ski Packages at The Georgian
After a seemingly slow start with little natural snow – things are improving with a modest snow storm today across the Southern Adirondacks.  The North Creek area, home to Gore Mountain has received about six inches of snow and the Lake George/Glens Falls area maybe 4-6 inches with a brief period of sleet on top.  So, skiing and riding at Gore Mt, West Mt, and nearby Hickory Ski Center will be in top form with midwinter, packed powder snow surfaces.  The Georgian has teamed up with Gore Mt. to offer some great ski packages – check them out here.

Snowmobiling is finally coming around, and this snow will certainly help.  Look for snowmobile trail conditions for South Warren County and trail conditions for Northern Warren County here. The Georgian is offering Snowmobile Packages – for Stay and Ride with your own sled and Stay and Rent a Sled packages with Lake George Snowmobile Rentals.

Cross-Country Skiing and snowshoeing has gotten a great boost from the new snow – look for links and information here.

Coming up is the heart The Lake George Winter Carnival with lots of exciting events in February.  Score any of our winter packages and enjoy the Winter Carnival Events.  Look for more Winter Carnival Info here.

And don’t forget Romance in The Mountains!  Valentine’s Day weekend at the Georgian is a great time with a dinner dance on Saturday Night featuring the music of Ronnie Leigh.  And, sleep in on Sunday enjoy Brunch 10AM – 2PM.  Valentine’s Weekend at The Georgian.

Speaking of Romance – check out our new Wedding Commercial airing in the Albany Capital District area.

Snow, Christmas, & New Year’s!

December 6th, 2010

Well I do follow the weather enough to know that we are heading toward an old fashioned snowy and cold winter here in Lake George and the Adirondacks.  This spells excellent skiing, riding and snowmobiling.  You can follow Henry at Accuweather – always a leg up on other forecasters.

The Georgian has assembled some exciting packages to take full advantage of all the winter fun – from skiing and snowmobile packages to shopping and celebrating the Holidays – all bundled with our great accommodations, food and service.

On the ski scene, Gore Mt. is in great shape with some natural snow and cold temperatures to make snow – you can expect the trail counts to only go up and a great Christmas/New Years week is in the offing.  Check out the latest Gore Mt. Ski Conditions here.  Check out our great Ski & Stay Packages.  We are also just down the road from both West Mt. in Glens Falls and Hickory Ski Center in Warrensburg.  Hickory is one of the greatest “little” ski centers – but oh what a hill – almost a 1000 ft. of vertical rise.  Check out their skiing at HickorySkiCenter.com

Guests can combine a ski or snowmobile package and enjoy a great New Year’s Eve Celebration – the area’s grandest – with a phenomenal buffet dinner and music by The Electric City Horns.  Hear their music – it’s going to be a rockin’ good time!   See our New Year’s menu and all the other information you’ll need right on our New Year’s Eve page.

Holloween – Ghosts and Murder!

October 19th, 2010

Oh you know it’s a spooky time of year.  It’s cold and dark.  Leaves dance across the road in great groups seemingly trained by the devil.  Black cats are everywhere.  Mysterious howls penetrate the night sky.  So, this backdrop makes scary stories even more realistic – except that this one is true!

Earlier this Fall The Georgian hosted a wedding reception in our Terrace Room.  Everything went fine and the guests were very happy, drinking, dancing, enjoying the food and good company.  Someone took a photo – and revealed the Georgian Ghost!  No time for photoshop.  No smoking in the building.  No hot food on the table.  Here is the photo – judge for yourself!  What do you see in the image?  Click on the photo for a larger version.

Georgian GhostSo now that you’re sufficiently “in the mood” for Halloween – join us for a great time at our Halloween Murder Mystery Dinner Theater.  Saturday, October 30th, Cocktails at 6PM with Dinner and Show at 7PM.  “Chill ‘Em and Kill ‘Em” – this is a great audience participation show featuring Laura Roth.  Guests will be given clues – even during the cocktail hour – and the guest who solves the Mystery will receive a Grand Prize Georgian Vacation Package.  The evening will also feature music and dance by “Public Energy Number One” – Laura Roth.  Cost for the evening is $58/person and dinner will feature a Fresh Garden Salad, A Duet – Filet and Baked Stuffed Shrimp, Chef Potato and Vegetable, Chef Dessert.  You can make it a weekend for as little as $207/couple – Dinner, Show, Accommodations and Breakfast the following morning.
Give us a call – we’re dying to hear from you!  518-668-5401
