Most of the above cross-country ski centers also rent snowshoes for use on their trails or adjacent state land.  Additional snowshoe rentals (ski rentals also) may be found at Beaver Brook Outfitters.  For hints on where to go – look on the Adirondack Mountain Club website.  Best bet for a winter adventure near the Georgian – snowshoe up Buck Mt. – 3 miles each way – what a view of Lake George!
