Canoe There are some great programs at The Newcomb Adirondack Interpretive Center this weekend.  It’s a little bit of a drive (45 minutes or so from Lake George), but well worth the drive.  On Saturday – Beaver Natural History – A Paddle on Rich Lake, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM  Discover the fascinating history of Beavers in the Adirondacks and how their furs have shaped local economy over the years! Learn the benefits they can have to local ecosystems as well as the damage they cause to natural resource in the areas that surround them. This program will be taking place on a canoe so be ready to paddle!  Canoes are available to use or bring your own.  No canoe experience required, all are welcome to participate.
On Sunday Sunday, June 29, 2014 – Art Along the Trails – Artist-in-Residence Frances Gaffney will be drawing and painting out along the trails today! Stop by to chat, exchange tips and techniques and observe Frances as she works.  More info call 518-582-2000 | website

Planning ahead – 4th of July Fireworks are scheduled in Lake George on Friday, July 4th and again on Saturday July 5th – both shows at 9:30PM
