Up and down weather for the week, but the upcoming weekend looks OK.  Weather Summary (Thurs 10/24):  “High pressure will drift off the New Jersey coast today, as a weak cold front brings a few showers to the Adirondacks. Above normal temperatures are expected today into tonight, as the front stalls over the region. A weak disturbance moving along the front on Friday will bring isolated to scattered showers and cloudy conditions. High pressure builds back in Friday night into Saturday with fair and dry weather with seasonable temperatures.”

Lake George This Week, Aug 5 – Aug 12, 2018TWO WARS. FIVE BATTLES. ONE FORT! Well worth the 45 minute drive!  The heroic corn maze is open for the season – kids love it!  Every year at Fort Ticonderoga is a new story! Relive the defining moments in America’s history when nations fought to control a continent. Located within the shadow of the Adirondack Mountains and overlooking Vermont’s picturesque Green Mountains, Fort Ticonderoga guards the historic portage between Lake Champlain and Lake George. The French and their native allies failed to conquer this region during the French & Indian War. And a generation later, the British failed during the Revolutionary War. In the end, Americans controlled Lake Champlain, and therefore controlled the continent. Each day in July and August, the Fife and Drum Corps play songs containing important information, known as “duty tunes.” From reveille in the morning to tattoo at night, or sounding of the alarm and calling to arms, the Fifes and Drums regulate days at the fort today.  Also – don’t miss the Kings Garden tour and the Corn Maze – open now through the Fall season!
