Shepard Park Ampitheater 2018 Lake George Summer Vacation Guide The Lake George Arts Project Summer Concert SeriesShepard Park Wednesdays 7:00PM is a winner every week this Summer beginning July 11th (rain or shine).  This is world class Live Music!  Lake George Arts Project – Summer Concert Series.  Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the show!  All concerts are FREE and just a 5-minute walk from the Georgian – Wednesdays, 7 PM.

Wed. July 11, 7PM  Chris Smither –  grew up in New Orleans where he was taught the rudiments of instrumentation by his uncle. “Uncle Howard,” Smither says, “showed me that if you knew three chords, you could play a lot of the songs you heard on the radio. And if you knew four chords, you could pretty much rule the world.”

Wed. July 18, 7PM Incendio The music of Incendio (which means “fire” in Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish) echoes a mix of influences ranging from classical, to jazz, to rock, to flamenco, to Celtic, even bluegrass can be heard in their music. It is no surprise that their blend of influences has led to a sound that is a truly unique. Whether it is rapid acoustic guitar melodies or expansive use of undulating synthesizers, the music. of Incendio tells stories. Incendio’s intention is to take the listener on a sonic adventure

Wed. July 25, 7PM High Rollers ~ Blues with Matt Mirabile & Jill Hughes  A blend of New Orleans Jazz & Blues featuring vocal powerhouse Jill Hughes and guitar slinger Matt Mirabile. Band Members: Jill Hughes vocals; Matt Mirabile guitar & vocals; Jason Ladayne, piano; Steve Aldi, bass; and Chad Ploss, drums.

Aug. 1, 7PM The Lustre Kings -The Lustre Kings boast a devoted international fanbase and continue to perform over 150 dates a year, including regular stops at nightspots, festivals and casinos like Tip Top Deluxe, Skinny Dennis and The Continental Club, Viva Las Vegas, Heritage Folk Festival and the Rockin 50s Fest, and the Potawamoti Hotel.

Wed. Aug 8, 7PMLes Grand Hurleurs – This Quebec-based band is now touring with its ¾ Fort show inspired , 7PMby the repertoire of its newest award-winning CD. The trio plays music that is deeply anchored in tradition and steeped in numerous criss-crossing influences. With ¾ Fort, traditional music flirts with classical, Manouche, electronica, and folk music. The band present original, open-minded music, very much alive yet respectful of its roots.

Wed. Aug. 15, 7PM Rad TradsBased in New York City, The Rad Trads have quickly gained a reputation as one of New York’s most entertaining live acts. Their unique genre-bending styling bring an American feeling that consistently win over audiences with relentless energy, charisma, and enthusiasm. They never fail to draw their audiences in, unable to stop dancing, and always leave wanting more.

Wed. Aug 22, 7PM Dylan Perrillo Orchestra – The Dylan Perrillo Orchestra is a colorful ten-piece ensemble of instruments and musicians from NY’s Capital District celebrating the beginnings of jazz. The group began playing together in early 2013, performing arrangements from the 20s to 40s. The DPO prides itself on bringing America’s most original musical tradition to people of all ages in their community.

Wed. Aug 29, 7PM Prof. Louie & the Crowmatix – The music of Professor Louie & the Crowmatix, based in Woodstock, New York, is steeped in Rock ‘n’ Roll, Blues, Gospel and American Roots music. The band is led by Aaron Louis Hurwitz. Aaron has a history of collaborating with the legendary musical group The Band for over fifteen years. He was nicknamed “Professor Louie” by Rick Danko, due to his work and friendship with The Band. The Cromatix 2017 recording Crowin’ The Blues was on The National Contemporary Blues Music Reports Charts in the top 20 for the first quarter. Their CD Music From Hurley Mountain was voted best concept record & group by Radio Crystal Blue in 2016.

Kids love the outdoors, and here’s a few ideas to keep them entertained and offer them some great education as well.  The Floating Classroom – a great on the lake cruise with The Lake George Association.  Leaving from Lake George Village Dock (5 min. walk from the Georgian), on Wednesdays in July and August, from 10 am -12 pm or 1 pm – 3 pm. So it’s Raining!  

Many attractions and activities do go rain or shine.  Check with the operator for suggestions.  As an example whitewater rafting and tubing trips do go rain or shine (no thunderstorms) – and what the heck – you’re going to get wet anyway!  The Lake George area has many indoor arcades, games and fun!  The Fun Spot, just past The Great Escape has plenty of indoor games and kids fun.  More Indoor Attractions:  The Hyde Collection (art museum) |  The Chapman Museum (great exhibit “At The Lake) | The Adirondack Museum  |  The Wild Center ( a bit of a drive, but well worth it).  |  World Awareness Children’s Museum, Glens Falls, NY.  Glen Drive-In Theater (15 min. drive).  Regal Cinemas – Glens Falls.
